Step 1: Identify Direct Competitors

List 3-5 websites targeting the same audience. Avoid comparing yourself to industry giants with 100x your resources. Focus on sites of similar size and age.

Step 2: Use Free Comparison Tools

Enter competitor URLs into Ubersuggest or SimilarWeb free versions. Note their estimated monthly organic traffic. Record the top 5 keywords driving their traffic.
